Toothache Pain Relief Home Remedies
please help: Home Remedy For Toothache RELIEF.?
I can’t get to the dentist till Monday and I am in excruciating pain. The entire left side of my face. What can I help to aleviate it some. I took 2 Advils about 30 minutes or so but still no help. PLEASE HELP!!
If you have amoxicillin or penicillin around the house, start taking that. Serious Tooth Pain is almost always a sign of infection. If you don’t have that I would suggest you take 4 to 8 ibuprofen (Advil.)
A prescription strength ibuprofen is normally 800 mg. But following surgery, when I reacted to another pain medication, and I couldn’t drive, my doctor advised taking 1 to 2 (800 mg) ibuprofen tablets for pain every 4 to 6 hours until I could get someone to go to the pharmacy.
You do want to watch for side effects if you take that much, but it is generally safe in the short term as long as you don’t go crazy. Generally you shouldn’t exceed 3200 mg ibuprofen in 24 hours. I have exceeded that a couple of times without any problems.
If the ibuprofen doesn’t relieve your pain, you may actually want to go to the emergency room for something a little stronger. Sometimes the ER will put you on antibiotics and pain meds until you can get to a dentist.
Though I risk getting censored or criticized, I would suggest you contact friends and or family members and see if they may have any left over prescription strength pain meds. Mouth pain is excruciating and doesn’t relent until the problem is abated.
